Day 6

 Today we are leaving Colorado and headed for Utah.  This has been such a beautiful state. I could definitely visit here again.  NOT IN THE WINTER!!!!  It has been cold enough for us and this is "Summer". On our way out Colorado surprised us with yet another stunning display of natures beauty.

This is Glenwood Canyon













Once again pictures do not even come close to capturing the beauty of this place.

So one of the things that confused the hell out me was the roundabouts with multiple outlets.  I went a found this clip of one from Vail but we passed some of these that looked like wagon wheel spokes it had so many exits.

These roundabouts may have been created through the recreational use marijuana laws here in Colorado.  We stopped at a "Rest Stop" that is what the sign said. We are driving down the road looking for the rest stop because we have got to pee.  We ended up going to a gas station down the road and while waiting for everyone to get done we noticed that we were surrounded by dispensaries.  Our guess is they must have got high and forgot to actually put the rest stop in.  


As we leave we passed the sign.  Leaving Colorful Colorado and it did not disappoint it was plentiful with colors and landscapes of numerous kinds.


Now onto Utah

Now to Arches National Park
Beautiful park definitely did not disappoint. We had a time entry for the park our window was from 12pm - 2pm.  We arrived in line at 1:58. Nothing like cutting it close. Another great thing about this time to ride a motorcycle through a desert, It is hotter than blue blazes!!!!  While we enjoyed all of the views we needed a break from the sun by this time. We had been on the road since 7:30am.










Per the parks request we are not allowed to climb on any of the buttes or arches.  If it wasn't for that we would have definitely been out there climbing to the tops of these. LOL







As we leave Arches we needed to get some gas and water and ran into this gem.


Please take note the regular gas is more expensive than the Premium! Either was he was ripping people off because there was not another gas station for miles. He was a $1.25 more per gallon than any other place we had been to.

Looks like Scooby and the kids are on top of the situation.


We got super lucky here though. Dad happened to walk around the trailer and notice one of the tires on the trailer had split and it was about to bust.  This would have been really really bad if it had.  We went back into Jackass Joes and Joe himself came out and helped us change the tire on the trailer. So a pretty decent guy when it comes to helping he just likes taking advantage of his perfect location for his gas station.



Look who is looming out in the sky! She keeps threatening us trying to make us get our rain suits on.






She won! We ended up putting them on and rode the last two hours of the evening with them. Boo! but I have to admit. It was worth it because it did rain a few times.  They were short spurts but it would have made the ride miserably cold if we did not have them on.

 Day 3 down Stop 1 Back down to Wall Drug and the Harley Shop. While eating Breakfast we all put our meteorologist hats on and was trying to figure out what the game plan was for rain gear today. We decided after we left the Harley shop we would go under the shelter next door and put all of our rain gear on.  We came out to the bikes and took all of our meteorological decisions and through them out the window and decided we were just gonna ride.  For anyone who has never had to put a rain suit on. Putting them on is an absolute nightmare. They get stuck on everything as you put them on and once you get them on they are so stinking hot 🥵 they are just miserable.  Second Stop Mt. Day 4

 Woke up this morning in Gillette, Wyoming. We decided to find out about Gillette, you know something more than they had hotel availability.  Fun fact #1  Gillette supplies 35% of the Nations coal and they are a significant oil supplier. They refer themselves as the energy capitol of the country  Fun fact #2 The town of Gillette was named after Edward Gillette. When the railroad was laying new tracks down they were supposed to follow Donkey creek.  Edward found a different route that save the railroad company a ton of money. By using the new route he discovered they shortened the distance by 5 miles and had to build 30 less bridges. His reward was to have the city named after him. On the road again! First Stop Wally World!  Needed ear plugs the wind was whipping insane again today. Wind gust were at 41 mph according to the warning sign on the interstate. Day 2

 Day 2 Went to bed last night with tornado warnings! 😕 We were to tired to be concerned about it.  We figured if they were really serious about the warning they would like flash lights and knock on doors if it was going down for real.  So we prepped for bed.  We turned the lights out then realized we did not know where in the heck the remote was. We looked around for a hot minute and decided screw this we will just unplugged the TV.  That's what everyone does, right?!?! When we woke up this morning the trees were all bending over and the wind was blowing extremely hard.  Turns out according to the news the wind would be blowing most of the day from the North @ around 26 miles per hour.  I knew the wind was of significance, but I never realized how much of a pain in the butt it would be.  I do believe we are now all suffering from whiplash in our necks.  Every time you would pass a Semi your neck would get whipped to the left side.
